SHORT DESCRIPTION
Flexible working is the possibility for workers to decide part of the characteristics of their job. Flexible working is generally understood in two different ways: the possibility to work remotely and the possibility to adjust working hours to the worker’s preferences.
Each company may opt for its own model of flexible working, but most commonly a set of conditions are provided to employees (weekly working hours, delivery schedule, review and accountability procedures, etc.) and they decide where and how they will perform the relevant tasks.
It should be stressed that business flexibility does not imply either working fewer hours or failing to meet deadlines previously agreed by the company. Hence, it is in the interest of HR managers to have digital tools that allow better monitoring of employees’ performance under flexible working arrangements.
